LANDER: Live on Kickstarter

Some of you may remember that we’ve talked about LANDER a couple of times on our podcast, having first seen it at UKGE 2017. Since then it’s come on in leaps and bounds and the game is now live on Kickstarter!

For more information, see the press release below. Or, you can watch our video interview with Dan from Intrepid Games from UKGE 2019!

LANDER is a competitive, 2-4 player, resource management strategy game, where you assume the role of a corporation, sent to colonise Kaimas-2 and is on Kickstarter now.

Players starts out modestly, with 2 crew members, 3 claimed sectors and some equipment allocated from the colony.

Colonisation occurs over a series of rounds (years). Each year, your sectors generate Energy, Food and Titanium. To increase your resource base, you can Expand into new sectors or Upgrade ones you’ve previously claimed. With more resources at your disposal, you’re able to acquire new crew members from stasis, add new classes and traits and unlock new leadership abilities.

As you develop your crew with training and items, do so strategically, as each crew member has an attachment limit. Your crew will enable you to play Action cards which can boost your corporation, sabotage your rivals, or prevent the actions of other corporations.

The objective is to earn the most Mission stars. To qualify for a mission, you must meet the criteria on the card and pay the required resources to earn the stars. Bonus mission stars can be earned by achieving Accolades, which reward you for obtaining the highest level of achievement in particular areas of game play.

But beware, landing on an alien planet is fraught with danger. Events create a narrative and introduce unpredictable challenges that will force you to pivot your strategy as you adapt to the changing conditions on Kaimas-2.

In LANDER there is a game within the game, where the use of tactics such as negotiation, bluffing and observations can help you predict your opponent’s next move and plan your strategy accordingly.

With 3 different game styles, setup booklets, resource trackers, functional game inserts and helpful reference cards, Lander will create an experience you’ll enjoy bringing to the table, every time.
